2 ditahan rakam gambar bogel rakan sembang Internet

Plan To Block Porn Sites Based On Common Sense: Minister

JAKARTA, March 26 (Bernama) - The government's plan to block porn and violence websites is based on common sense, Communications and Information Minister Mohammad Nuh said."Nobody has reason to build a nation by disseminating pornography and violence. I think nobody will agree to such notion," Indonesia's Antara news agency quoted Mohammad Nuh as saying in a press conference here on Tuesday. The press conference was called shortly after the House of Representatives (DPR) passed an information and electronic transaction bill into law earlier in the day.Under the law, anybody found guilty of providing and using pornographic sites may face a maximum of three years in prison or a fine of up to Rp1 billion. The minister said the government was resolved to block obscene sites in response to public calls on the government to minimise Internet users' access to adult content.Telematics law lecturer Edmon Makarim of the University of Indonesia (UI) said the government was directing its efforts toward minimising access to porn and violence websites. The law mostly dealt with bans on the dissemination of pornography and other such contents detrimental to the public through the Internet, he said."The aim is not to censor porn sites and the like but encourage the public to make optimum use of the Internet. Therefore, positive regulations banning the dissemination of pornography are needed," he said. The minister said the passage of the bill into law would encourage the Indonesia - Security Incident Response Team on Internet Infrastructure (ID-SIRTII) to work more effectively. The ID-SIRTII team's main task was to ensure the security of electronic transactions while blocking obscene sites was its additional task, he said.Earlier, the minister said the government planned to block all obscene sites starting April 1."Admittedly, the number of Internet users in Indonesia is relatively small, reaching around 25 million. But their number will skyrocket in May because we will provide special facilities to senior high schools across the country," he said in Surabaya recently. The special facilities given free of charge would lead to a drastic increase in the number of Internet users, he said."The special facilities will double the number of Internet users to 50 million, which is relatively small, accounting for 25 percent of the Indonesian population. But it is 20 times as much as that of Singapore or even Malaysia," he said.-- BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR: The extra school charges that pupils have to pay is putting a hole in the pockets of their parents.
The charges come in three main packages -- A, B and C -- and each standard has a different charge including for the use of toilets in schools.Education Ministry director-general Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom said the packages were compulsory but it was up to the schools to decide which was best suited for them, taking into account what the parents could afford to pay.Package A is for schools where the majority of parents work in big business or are civil servants in the professional group while Package B is for schools where most of the parents are traders or civil servants in the support group.Package C is for schools in remote areas where the majority of parents are petty traders, plantation workers, the self-employed and government workers.
The standard annual charges for primary schools for Package A is RM38.50, Package B is RM30.50 while Package C is RM23.50. For secondary schools, the annual charges are RM55.50, RM44.50 and RM33.50 respectively. The money collected from all packages are used, among others, for examination papers, annual sports, insurance coverage, and Islamic and Moral activities. On top of these compulsory charges, there is also the Parent-Teacher Association charges which is non-compulsory and is mainly to cover the maintenance of the school facilities. The New Straits Times compared four schools in Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor and Kuala Lumpur and found that Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Tun Dr Ismail 1 in Kuala Lumpur had the highest PTA charges. At TTDI 1, the charge is RM145 per student, which includes school hall maintenance and computer usage. But in the other three schools, the charges were not much less, even a rural school in Pasir Gudang, Johor, charged RM108.90 for a Year One pupil and the amount includes providing a child with a picture dictionary, guide book, T-shirt and exercise books.Saiful Bahri Shariff Ghazali, 41, an executive who has one Year Three daughter studying at TTDI 1, said that it was not appropriate to charge too high fees in primary schools."It is even higher than in secondary schools and I know that for a fact as I have two teenage daughters," he said. He said the school should consider single parents who had several schooling children as they might not be able to afford it."Although the school is in an urban area, not all parents can afford the fees. The school must be more transparent in giving more details and on how the money is spent, " he added.Another parent, Aidil Muh- tarami Ghazali, 33, a businessman, said he paid RM131 for PTA and other compulsory charges. On top of this, he was also charged RM34.50 for the orientation session and RM28 for sports attire when his daughter enrolled in Year One in TTDI 1.However, TTDI 1 headmistress Nik Nab Sulaiman said the PTA charges were agreed to at the EGM last November."Not all parents attended the meeting but the decision was based on the majority of those present," she said. She said for those who could not afford to pay, the amount could be waived or reduced.Meanwhile, the National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations president Associate Professor Mohamad Ali Hasan said the Education Ministry should set a standard guideline on the charges that each PTA could impose."Right now as there is no guideline on this, parents and teachers are free to charge as they like. I would like to note here that such charges are not compulsory," he said.He said that this trend was especially prevalent in urban schools where teachers knew that the parents could afford the extra payment. "In rural schools the charges for the PTA association is under control," he said, adding that the charges were for a whole year and per family.

Extra charges 'not binding'
By : Deborah Loh

PUTRAJAYA: Contributions by parents to their children's schools and to parent-teacher associations are not compulsory, the education minister said yesterday.
Addressing confusion among some parents that "school fees" remained high despite the government's move to scrap them from this year, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the additional payments were not fees as such, but "requests" by the PTAs and schools which were not binding upon parents."I've repeatedly said they are not compulsory. Parents who feel they are unable to afford or cannot agree, don't have to comply."If they cannot make these contributions in one lump sum, they are allowed to pay in stages. "There is really no issue here, as these contributions are not compulsory, and those who feel that schools or their PTAs are forcing them can always complain to the ministry," he said.
They may call the ministry's hotline at 03-8884 6000 between 8am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.Newspapers reported that some parents were taken aback on Wednesday, the first day of school, when they were asked to pay more than RM100 in some cases, for maintenance, co-curricular classes, the school's sports day, school magazines, and security and insurance services.Last September, the government announced that it would abolish the school fee of RM4.50 per primary pupil and RM9 per secondary school student.Lost in the cheers that greeted this announcement was the fine print that this did not include other payments requested by the schools and the PTAs."The majority of parents feel this is not a real burden, only a few do. If these few feel it is a burden, like I've said, it is not something we insist upon."Hishammuddin added that a circular had been sent last year to all schools on guidelines, placing a ceiling on the amount that could be requested from parents. The Oct 30 circular stated a maximum of RM38.50 for primary schools and RM55.50 for secondary schools to cover co-curricular and sports activities. Asked about Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's comment in Kota Baru on Thursday that the government would look into reducing the amount of these contributions, Hishammuddin said it was not necessary."I agree with the DPM on the principle that it would give equal access to all pupils to go to school, but there is no need to abolish these contributions because they are not compulsory."We also should not stop those who can afford and want to contribute to the schools."Hishammuddin was speaking to reporters after delivering his new year's message to ministry staff and school heads at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre. In his speech, he reviewed the ministry's success since the launching of its National Education Blueprint Plan 2006-2010."Just because we were successful last year in implementing our targets under the plan, we must not be complacent and continue our focus this year."He said the ministry's second report card on implementation of the plan would be ready this month for tabling to the cabinet.
